Introductions and a really big thanks!
Hi Gentlemen,
Just wanted to introduce myself....I'm not new to the AULRO as I've been about occasionally on the Series 3 forums and also am a member of REMLR. What I am relatively new to is Discos however quite recently I sort of ended up with a quite decent 1 owner black D2 TD5 with just over 310k on the clock. The owner didn't want it any more and gave it to me...naturally it had a few issues but most of them are now sorted. Well they were...and this is the point of my post.
May I please pass on my sincerest thanks and appreciation to Jeremy Cooke of Winmalee who stopped to help my last night quite late when my Disco developed a leak from a coolant hose just as I'd started up Hawkesbury Heights hair pin bends. Jeremy towed me to the top of the bends, gave me extra water and bandaged the offending hose (which naturally was nigh on impossible to access), all of which took some time and made him no doubt even later to his destination.
Thanks to Jeremy's help I made it to Faulconbridge, where I found some more water and safely made it home to Hazelbrook with no further overheating. Tomorrow it's off to Land Vehicle Spares (in another vehicle) to get a relacement hose and then sort it out on Sunday.
So, big shout out to Jeremy....thanks man, I hope I can repay you sometime.
Do you like home brew? :-)
Cheers,
Steve O

Welcome to the forum
Steve Welcome to the forum
We're all Jeremys' very good friends and we all like home brew,
so if you find more L/R's in your driveway in the morning we'll only be there to welcome you and help with your brew testing
cheers

Disco repaired and back on the road...new hose fitted and all seems good. No further leaks and head gasket appears to have survived. I must get one of the low coolant alarms next.
Thanks for your replies...much appreciated.
Cheers,
Steve O

NO PROBLEMS AT ALL MATE!
G'day Steve,
It was my pleasure to lend a hand and I never gave it a second thought!
In fact, as you know we were affected by the fires in Winmalee and the community, charity organisations, friends and family have been incredible and have made me want to help people in need just as they had done for us!
It was only a week before I helped you out that I was in a similar situation with my Disco on the side of the road with a seized bear box! and thanks to Bruce Davis from Davis Performance in Annangrove got it back on the road ASAP for us in a time of great need!
I had only just picked it up that night I helped you.
And as for home brew, I'm not a big beer drinker but I will give anything a go at least once!
Regardless I'm glad to hear that you had no problems getting back home that night and even happier you have the beast fixed up with no problems caused by the overheating! Good result !
I had not seen this post until now as I have not been on this site for a while due to my head has been occupied with the clean up after the fires and getting my business back on track!
Merry Christmas to you and your family and looking forward to catching up some day soon !
Cheers Jeremy
P.S....... Engine saver is worth its weight in GOLD !
