So buying this pump from Melling is a good way to go? rather than failing with the Bearmach/Britpart?

The oem Melling pump is not expensive so in my view it is not worth taking a gamble on another make or even a second hand pump. Mine dropped straight in and will no doubt be good for another 200k km. Just be aware the Defender and Discovery pumps look the same but are different.

I was wondering if I should go with the genuine one, but reading in various forums the Hobourn is a very good one for a decent price comparing to 300 GBP for a genuine one.
The Melling web site claims the QVB101240 - 1205082/63 is for the Land Rover Discovery Series 2 TD5 Diesel, 1998-2004 which I own a 2001 TD5 Discovery 2.
