Check the colour of your coolent, in the tank, hopefully it hasn't gone a darker shade!!
Also check the bellhousing.

Slightly concerning issue here folks....
Had the disco out of the carport today, figured I'd stick my nose under the bonnet.
Checked the oil and it was towards the low end, nothing particularly shocking, car was on an angle and all.
So I put it on the flat and now it's reading as below the low end!
No external leaks that I can see, I've got the turbo oil drain leak but that's nowhere near bad enough to go through this much oil
So at the very minimum I'm not driving it until this is sorted.
Checked my oil a week or so ago and it was fine. I have done roughly 1000km in between then.
No extra or odd noises from the engine, nothing out of the ordinary at all.
Could it just be the turbo drain pipe?
Cheers
Muppet

That's good news, apart from into the bellhousing, intercooler or on the ground, knowhere else it could go really, well there is one other thing it could do, is mix with the fuel, which is not a good thing.
I was going to say maybe warm the car up abit, but I think you have that firgured out now.

from low to max on the dipstick it is not alot (1ltr maybe), find with mine it can go for a while with no movement, then next time i look it has dropped a little, same as you no noticable leaks.
my thoughts are maybe its getting past the rings, motor has high kms so could be the case, just top it up and keep an eye on it.![]()
Before you add oil, shift to a level park and let it sit for 10, check, if down, let it sit longer and recheck. For some reason I found with mine if I move it, check, it will always be either low, or not on the marks. Let it sit and suddenly it appears!
Easier than having to drain some out, dont ask! :P All I know is a new filter drops it 1/2 a dipstick or so!
Cheers Scott
Motor is just under 250k, 248 or so.
I found when I did my first service exactly what Liam said, the last litre or so makes all the difference on the dipstick.
I'll keep my eye on it, it's getting a service after glenreagh, and a big one at that so I'll see how it goes.
For what its worth I had the same sense of panic on the weekend.
Checked the oil about 5 mins after it had been running for about 15 mins.
Was very low on the dipstick and I was about to add 750 mls to bring it back to full.
But decided to check the next morning and by then it was back up to full - so I guess oil must have been distributed through the engine and took a while to run back down to the sump?
Car doesn't have any oil leaks (first time in a long while). But it does use a little oil, maybe 500 mls over 5000K if driven hard. No obvious smoke from exhaust when running or on start up.
best
