There has been considerable chat on here regarding the fitting of a bosh fuel pressure reg. Being 4.0 bar and not the 4.4 bar that some say the original one is, power loss associated and actual fitting in the housing. Here is my result.

Mine was leaking from the actual o-ring on the regulator rather than the hole on the rear of the regulator assembly. As I am doing a trip fairly soon though I would fit a quality regulator while it was all apart.

After sourcing a Bosch fuel pres regulator part # 0280160575 (4.0 bar, to suit a BA XR6 turbo) and the other associated pipe o-rings and body gasket I have completed the job.

The result is, no noticeable power difference at all, no leaks, and a good quality fuel pres reg in place. The regulator is slightly different in appearance to the original MSA 100000 but fits perfectly into the housing.

If you have to pull the regulator housing off to rectify leaks it might be worth considering the replacement of the original FPR while its apart. There is a ton of stories on the internet about the cheap FPR's being hit and miss reliability wise. Food for thought as its not a job you really want to do more than once every 5 years.
