Yep, just done it, mainly to extend the rear section to facilitate my ATF temp probe, with the dipstick a real bonus.  Pans are the same profile and you (I think) use a D1 V8 dipstick, but subject to correction.  We were going to bend the dipstick tube a bit and bracket it to the engine block, but its very solid as an original shape stand alone, so might just try leaving it as is.  Make sure you keep the D1 sump plug - my D2a version was different.  Also, don't lose your crud magnet.  If I can get my act together, I'll do a couple of pics.
