Green could still be OAT; doesn't have to be red to be OAT. Not an expert on this however I have had green OAT in mine at one point and didn't have any issues when I moved to red. (Well none more than expected with a d2)
When I bought my TD5 1999 D2 it had green coolant in it.
I was told that I should leave it in, as trying to flush it to replace with OAT was difficult and that the two coolants would congeal and cause problems.
Does anyone have any thoughts or better still any cures?
Regards Nick.

It won't be OAT as I have topped it up with Tecloy or what ever the green stuff is called.
Doesn't really matter one way or the other (some will disagree), it's more that the one you have is all the same type.
I seem to recall a post by Blknight about attaching a garden hose to a point on the heater matrix IIRC, and letting it run until it runs clear.
Some green coolants (eg Nulon) are a hybrid OAT. Some of the tectaloy range are OAT as well from what I can see on their website , so depends on brand and/or product range. Other Tectaloy are just inhibitors.
I flushed mine well when I bought it. Went to red OAT and it's leaked ever since. Another problem you will find is common.
Happy Days
ive had both red and green. Just dont mix the two.
IMHO if you take the thermostat off , reverse flush the radiator until the water runs clear, then flush through the inlet hoses to the engine on the engine side of the thermostat until the water runs clear then it is flushed and OAT can be used.
I surprisingly found green in mine recently when I went to change the hoses.
I must have been conditioned to find red as there was a 4 litre container of red in the back when I bought it LOL. I chucked the container out as I had no idea whether it was undiluted.
I have used Nulon Longlife OAT and it did leak for a couple of days until I tracked em down to screw clamps that were too loose..
In my experience Panel beaters just chuck green in if they have opened the cooling system . They did that on my Honda Jazz . Luckily I had 4 litres of Honda Blue coolant at home so I changed it back .
BTW apparently do NOT use red in older cars with a brass radiator as it reacts with the brass. Only use OAT with Aluminium.
I wonder if the engine sleak more or it's just that you can see the fluoro red more easily.LOL

Surprisingly my engine runs cooler now. maybe the thermostat opens a degree or so sooner, but yesterday at 29C it never got over 85C idling in traffic with aircon on or hill climbing.
