    Vibration

Hey guys, just went for a bit of a drive, all onroad and after about 20 minutes of driving I could feel a vibration in my feet. I pulled over and when the car isnt moving it can still be felt/heard. It doesn't get louder or higher/lower in frequency when accelerating or decelerating.
Car seems to be driving fine. When I got home I tried to source it but the engine is too loud to hear anything.
    Any ideas?

    TD5, auto.

    Hi there.
Can you give us a bit more info?
Is it more noticable when stopped and the car is in park. Does it get worse with the air con on, does the vibration nearly go away when stopped in drive with slight throttle while firmly applying the brake with your left foot not allowing the car to move?
    Regards.
    Michael.

Also forgot to ask when stationary and the car in neutral does the car vibrate more or less with different rpm's?
    Regards.

I let the car sit an hour yesterday then started it again, vibration gone. Ill got for a long drive today and see what happens. Ill also check the mounts today.
Pacemaker, I could not get the vibration to change at all no matter what I did, I had tried all of what you suggested and to me it remained the same. Unless it was changing so slightly I couldnt notice.

Maybe take the drive belt off and check the Harmonic balancer. Cheers Matt

It could be engine mounts as its worse when it heats up. The mounts are rubber and soften with heat causing them to sag slightly. You can check when the engine is hot by sliding under the car and checking the small holes in the bottom of the eng mounts to see if the rubber is pushing through the holes.

    Regards.

Had a look at the engine mounts today. Nothing was pushing through those holes but the rubber was flush up against them. I assume the rubber is meant to be sitting up higher then that?
