Front diff (pinion?) end seal
Hi all,
I just bought an 04 D2 / V8 and starting to have a go at the outstanding jobs that came with it.
I've got the front driveshaft out to do a cv boot, and am thinking about doing the seal while I'm at it.
With only one side jacked up on a stand, is it possible to do the seal without having to drain & change the diff oil?
Also, what do you use as a drive to reseat the seal?
Thanks.

I have a disco 2 front diff in my 110 and did the pinion seal yesterday, drop the front tail shaft off the diff and you will need a 15mm socket to undo the flange and remove, then hook out the old seal and install the new one, on the slight angle of my driveway no oil ran out, make sure you chock your wheels.

Ok thanks, but I think I might have got the name of the seal wrong...
It's the one on the end of the diff near the hub.

Update: I've since found out its called the axel - driveshaft seal, and yes it can be changed without having to drop the diff oil
