ARB do a winch bar for SRS & non-SRS D1's, a winch bar for D2's and two different style winch bars for D2a's.

Thanks for that Kelvo, you might be right about that second hand one being for a D2, I will have to go and have a proper look at it with my new knowledge.
Those ARB bars look great too, and a Deluxe bar in black supply only sounds good for the price. I just hope availability is not an issue.

Looks like it may be the best option so save the bikkies and get a new bar.

ARB bars come with ARB designed crush cans to replace the factory crush cans. These are the ones supplied with a Deluxe Bar for a D2a

Kelvo - I was quoted last week $1800 fitted for a d2a deluxe bar in black inc factory foglight fitting.

    Is that about right?

I have a MCC bar on mine as it was the only one I could find late 2012. ARB couldn't promise how long before 10 orders came in and agreed that if it took 2 years that is how long I would have to wait. Quite happy with the MCC. That is in a 2000 D2 bit they make the one bar for the 2 & 2a I believe. I am running a 12000lb winch in mine

Just an extra note that the front of the chassis on a D1 and D2 are quite different so it would be a fair bit of work fitting a D1 bar to a D2

Huh....that's odd....my local ARB said they'd have one made up for me, **** customer service sent me elsewhere though, still have an ARB bar but got it 2nd hand off the forum.
ARB is the best option in terms of frontal protection.

    That would be correct.

You should be able to get the bar only for $1600 (List price is $1800), I was quoted $200 for fitting & another $220 for colour coding. (I put the wrong price for the bar in my previous post, corrected that now )

I fitted mine by myself, it's not difficult.

The D2 and D2a bars are different, see my post (#10) on page 1 of this thread.

With the ARB they are different but when I got my MCC (I got it from a mob in SA but since then I have found someone in Sydney that does them and the SA mob don't anymore) they just had one listed for the whole life of the D2 not a specific one for D2 or D2a
Also the MCC have a crush can of a quite different design.
With ARB I rang one office and got told 6 weeks but after I heard through the grapevine that it would be longer I made a few more enquires and found that it was an undefined wait. I also rang my local TJM who still haven't got back to me
