Thread: TD5 water pump weep hole?

The weep hole in the housing aka "Auxiliary bracket" as depicted in your original photo is just the drain from the housing. The actual weep point is in the pump itself that weeps into the housing thence out the housing hole. Given that it has just started I am betting on the pump itself. If the O-Ring failed there would be more coolant as they tend to be an "All or nothing " item.
Pump quality does seem to vary, I replaced mine with a "quality" aftermarket and it leaked instantly I put coolant in and ran to temp! I then went Genuine and so far good. The original made it to 220000k.
    Cheers Scott

OK so ive got most things removed and i assume the 'auxiliary bracket' is the attachment of the a/c compressor, power steering pump and idler pully (no ACE) and is held on by 3 bolts and one Nut. is that correct? Hoping to get this off and replace both the O-ring and water pump at the same time. only thing is those bolts are bloody tight! haha thanks once again

Yes it's the bracket that bolts to the block, and supports the water pump, ps pump, air con etc.
