Hey guys just wondering if this is the water pump weep hole (see pictures attached). photos taken looking up form underneath the engine on the passengers side? can see a drip line coming down from the weep hole just can't figure out if it is recent or not. replaced the water pump 2 years ago (30,000kms) and have just recently had the coolant replaced.
Thanks off track, it was cleaned yesterday morning and after a day of drving no new marks have appeared so I hope this is the case (also no coolant noticeably lost from the header tank). thanks also for pointing out the hose, its amazing how when your focus is drawn to one particular thing its easy to overlook others!
OK so have been continuously checking and it appears that this leak has emerged again. Can anyone confirm that this is indeed the water pump weep hole? Also if i have already replaced the water pump once, is there another seal in that area that should have also been replaced?
there is also an O-Ring between the W/pump housing/bracket and the block . Unless it has been replaced recently it does need to be done. Mine at 22000 ks had not been replaced and was very flat and hardened.
Cheers Scott

Reason: correction
thanks Yorkie! don't think that was changed last time so will do the water pump again and that O-ring! Im sure the last water pump was genuine, as general feedback on this forum says to do so. Hopefully the next one lasts a little bit longer!
Schuy, so is this separate to the O-ring that yorkie was talking about and both of these are separate to the O-rings on the water pump itself? are they easy to locate, remove and replace? can't seem to find them in the manual unless they are called something different?
I am assuming so. I think yorkie is referring to the actual water pump sealing O-rings. In the RAVE it is referred to as "Auxiliary Bracket" See this thread for some pics and info. http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...om-engine.html
thanks Scott. Now i Just need to figure out if I need to replace the water pump and the discussed O ring or just the O ring itself. My understanding is that the water pump has 2 weep holes, with one down the bottom and one up the top near the power steering. Is there any significance to leaking out of the top weep hole versus the bottom?
