Brake caliper mount removal - socket type and size?

    Hullo.

Have a seized slide pin in a rear caliper mount. Anyone know the type and size of socket required to remove the two bolts mounting the caliper mount bracket to the hub?

It's not torx or E socket.

    Thanks in advance.

not sure of exact size, 17 or 19mm maybe, but a standard 12 point socket will do the trick.

If it is the same as the bolts on the front calipers on a Defender, (I'm not saying it is, but if) then a 1/2inch 12 point socket is a snug fit.

    Cheers, Mick.

Thanks lads. Think I tried 17 and 19 mm 12 points without luck. Maybe the beer goggles malfunctioned. I'll get back into it on the weekend and report back.

Wow, I must have been ... er .... jolly. 12 point 13mm socket or ring spanner is the go.
