Thread: Side Steps with Hi Lift mount

I don't think it's the side rock sliders that would be the issue, but rather where they are mounted that would be the reason you shouldn't lift the vehicle using them.

I have never seen any with a lifting point in them.

I've never seen a situation where lifting the disco from the slider is needed... And done some serious recoveries

My high lift never leaves the shed!

The only time I've use my hi-lift was lifting my house to pack a stump.

Bloody dangerous things in my opinion I still question myself for buying the thing. Its not something I want to lug around.

This is what I use for a step it folds out and up with one hand , fits in the passenger door pocket and make me more chivalrous.


Some sliders would be nice but I wouldn't want them low enough to act as step.

Thanks for the reply. I should have mentioned that I still have standard front and rear bumper bar so I have basically no hi lift jack point on the truck. I dont think I can use (well I never user) the std bottle jack on lifted d2.

I thought if I can get the sliders with hi lift point then I dont need to replace front or rear bumper

re: not being able to use your standard jack, are you running bigger tyres??..........if not isn't your standard jack still going to fit under the axles? or am I missing something

when I brought my rig it came with a high lift jack, I carried it around for a couple of years and never came close to using it, it get used when I service the car and that it

Maybe because by their design they are unstable. Which in turn is their benefit as well.

I have 265/75/16 MTs. To be honest I havent tried to use the standard bottle jack.
