is there any noise from the doors? its common for the regulators to fail so you cant wind them back but you normally can hear the winder motor still working. do the rear ones work?

Take the door trim off and check the mechanics of it. I have had both sides front fail on me. Both were the mechanism, not the electrics.

There is no noise from the motor.
my wife was putting her window up at the same time as me when both went dead.

Check plugs behind switches and drop glove box and check all connections there...

Do the back windows move at the moment?

get a battery and 2 lengths of wire unplug the motor and touch your 2 wires 1 to each pin in the socket the window should move either up or down if the direction is not the way you want just reverse the wire and the window will go up car secured ! this is the easiest way to check the motors if they work then you can check the other half of the plug with a test light or multimeter to see if you have power and/or earth

I had a similar fault with the front windows. Garage diagnosed as a BCU fault and replaced it under warranty. 2 days later the same fault occurred, so back to the garage it went. There was a small amount of VDC across the ground of the vehicle. (.30 ohms, i think). After tracing the VDC back through the ground straps / points etc from the BCU, the mechanic found that the ground lead on the battery had come away from the side of the chassis.

All good now.

I lost drive to the driver's door...without warning. Could hear the motor click, but nothing more.
Ordered a replacement motor, THEN removed the trim.
Found one of the motor holding screws had loosened, allowing the motor to move slightly, jamming the window.
Adjusted the fixings and tightened the screws...and all good.
Have a look to see if the rough roads have loosened the screws holding the motor.

Check your fuze box again! I know from exp that the yellow relay that controls rear windows (also does something else, can't exactly remember) can and does fall out and evaporate! I suggest there is also a relay that (among other things) controls the front windows. You don't think to check it coz it's not there! I had to consult the wiring diagram to discover that I had a relay missing!
