Thread: Buzzing/whirring noise in dash after braking

    in front of your left knee there is a small grate thing,there is a small motor in there that samples the air,cant remember whaat for at the moment.

    Mick, mine makes the same noise, just as you come to a stop from the left footwell. Sounds like a servo maybe closing a flap. Only does it with the climate control on.

    Hmm, has it been there before the rebuild? or only just popped up? There are the BCU behind the glove box. There is also the airlock, head gasket thing that makes a noise in the heater core when a head gasket leaks or the water is low. although that is a gurgling, not a whirring I think. A bit baffling

    Yeah you're right about what it sounds like only mine does it with the climate control off

    Yeah it made the noise before the modulator rebuild and I know that water sound all too well when my head gasket went last year when they re built the head they installed a one way valve that's supposed to eliminate water rushing around back and forth in the heater core.

    Gurgling in the dash just means there's air in the cooling system
    Interesting re manual vs auto....
    Might have to see if mine does it with the CC on.
