Thread: Rusting wheel hub exposed..any ideas to cover it

You could treat the exposed metal with a rust converting solution, together with the rusty nuts, then paint the same colour as your rims.
I have seen a plastic coating at the local auto parts store that may be suitable, however you would most likely have to recoat after each wheel change

I wouldn't worry about the rust being an issue other than visually.

So long as you are running the factory wheel nuts (which it looks that you are), there is a hub cover available (i't spring clipped which is why it needs the factory wheel nuts as they have a groove for the clips which secures it in place).

The part number is DTC100810.

For the sake of completeness for anyone reading this thread in the future, the proper wheel nuts are part number ANR4851 - be careful using these with Dynamic brand steel wheels. Unless you have had them drilled and counter sunk to suit they are not a good fit and will mash up the wheel - better off using the wheel nuts supplied by Dynamic (request them when ordering).

Paint it with high temperature paint, e.g., Pot Belly Stove Black White Knight High Temp 500ml Pot Belly Black Heat Resistant Paint I/N 1563201 | Bunnings Warehouse ($30 for 500ml) or a paint suitable for disk brake callipers.

Where about's did you get your black caps?
The only ones I can find are from the UK and are pretty expensive.

Land Rover part sellers could also order them for you I am sure.

Totally forgot I had those cups when I bought the wheels. Couple of them have the clip broken and that's why I never put them on. I will source new ones.
