Taking reverse lamp wire feed to rear of van

    Hi all,

Anyone see any problems in using a feed from the rear of the reverse lights to the number 2 slot on a 7 pin round to feed a wire to the rear of my van to run a reversing light there? Should be a run of about 8 metres in total. Earth will be off the rear parking lights of the van.

    Cheers

That's the way I'd be doing it.
Works for the trucks at work with little 55W lights.
As they are only reverse lights they aren't on for too long.
    Cheers, Kyle

Both of my trailers have reversing lights, never been a problem although I don't have a D2. I installed a switch into the feed wire to the socket though just in case I need to tow a trailer with a different connection to the reverse pin. The car trailer got LED lights last year and I ended up fitting a relay in the car to boost the voltage as it was a little low for the LED's taste.
