    Hi 4runnernomore,
    I reckon I was actually quoted the same motor that you obviosly putin yr car. They quoted the same price and K's, but was yrs a changeover motor. I was told $4200 plus my motor

    Have you looked into buying a complete vehicle just for the motor???
    Selling the rest of the parts will pay for the stuff you need.

    Muppet, you mentioned oversize engine rebuild.

    Is their a big bore rebuild available?

    Just wondering what capacity the td5 could go out to.....

    For the age of the car this is relatively low ks and a diesel engine should be good for at least 500000 i would think

    Yeah wish they did last 500,000kms, mine was shot at around 292,000Kms

    bore and stroke means replacing crankshaft .....too hard basket atm.
