No , but I have fitted 130/90 via a relay loom and they are a lot better.

Has anyone done a HID upgrade on an early model D2?
After purchasing a new "other" car it has highlighted the poor state of the standard D2 ones.

Likewise I fitted new hi quality standard style globes and the difference was significant I think it was a set of these (have the packets somewhere)
SilverStarĀ®
the old globes - seem to dull with age
I would fit them again -

Try better light globes first - e.g. Narva Plus 50.
Much better for other road users than running globes that exceed the wattage or fitting HID to a vehicle not designed for.
Also check your headlight condition - has the glass yellowed? Is the reflection material inside still intact and shiny?
Aha! I knew someone would say this.has the glass yellowed? Is the reflection material inside still intact and
shiny?
All D2 lights are wait for it.........GLASS. They break and they do not yellow.
Only polycarbonate yellows.
In any case any high quality bulbs always state on them "UV CUT" and these are OK in Poly lenses.
I found the plus 50s etc add very little actual light and if you look at the specs sheets on AFAIR the Osram site , they don't put out many if any extra lumens. But they are whiter lumens.

Just fitted the traxide head light upgrade wiring loom and a set of Narva plus 50's, makes a vast improvement than before. Highly recommend you try this first
I went with dual relays and 4 X Osram 65W H7s in my D2a.
Here's a comparison of these bulbs in a Golf.
Upgrading Volkswagen Halogen Headlights to Osram Super Bright Off Road 65watt bulbs | my-gti.com
Can highly recommend them. They improve the brightness but more importantly the spread to the edge of the road is way better than the standard setup.

Well I actually bought genuine Osram +60 from UK and tried them.Did you find that the Plus 50's etc. "add very little actual light" by reading
the websites or by actually trying them?
I then put them in my Honda Jazz and they make a quite a difference, but nothing like the 130/90s.

I will reconfirm that I found new quality new globes significantly improved the colour and it seems the range of the lights on my relay upgraded 2001 D2 (not to an over the top ultra white/blue colour that you see around time either)
Agreed it would not be to level that 130/90's would... but thats what I have a set of large Lightforce's on the BullBar!
I still wonder if headlight bulbs age - ie get a coating on them etc that diminishes their output/colour or the whether new ones are simply superior?
in my view a bulb upgrade is well worth trying
cheers
