Where to mount winch solenoid box on Xrox bar?

    Hi all,
I am trying to mount a 12,000lb I-Max winch to my Xrox bar, but have no room for the solenoid box on top of the bar due to Lightforce lights being in the way. Has anyone found an alternative position for the box.
I don't want to start the installation until I have solved this issue.
    Cheers.

I have an ARB bar and originally had the winch box on the bar itself. Wasn't a fan of leaving it there so I moved it into the engine bay adjacent to the ABS pump.
I just ran some longer cables for the winch itslef, chopped the winch controller off and ran the cable up into the overhead console to a in/out switch.

Mounting wise I just drilled 2 holes in the guard and bolted it on.

    Hope this helps.

    Get rid of the jack

Take out the jack, store it with the tools in the vehicle, use the space for mounting the relays.

The shorter the run of cable the better, the longer, like going over to the LH side of the vehicle only increases the resistance in the system.

I have done this with mine, I took the relays out of their container and mounted them where the jack was, out of the way, high and dry most of the time, I hope!!!

    Cheers

    Mike
