    D2a Fuel Gauge not working

    2003 TD5 Auto D2a (with many issues)

It's full but does not give any reading.
I also have the M & S light issue but am going to concentrate this thread on the fuel Gauge.

I thought it would be an easy task to locate the wires for the sender unit back at the tank and follow them along to look for loose connectors. But I cant locate anything. I am a D2a newb so any info on where to look would be greatly appreciated.

    Googling madly!

Have to remove the rear carpet trim to get to the sender unit, all part of the in tank fuel pump.
Check for a break in the blue? wire I think, or dodgy solder joints by the sender arm.

Sweet so its basically identical to the older models.
I looked at the rear carpet and assumed that by now they would have an access panel if it was the case... they will never learn!

Onto the next issue.... I'll start a fresh thread!

You can buy an access panel for Td5 defenders.
    It's called an angle grinder

I recently had my fuel gauge not working. It was a corroded and broken terminal where the wire from the sender plugs onto the block at the top of the pump inside the tank.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."
