[QUOTE=discorevy;2761139]Add 10% to your odo reading when working out your fuel consumption ( bigger tyres ) , mud tyres will also use more fuel , 130 kph will use a heap more than 110, especially on a lifted 4x4 with roof rack etc , has the new motor been swapped like for like ? , eg 10p for 10 p or 16p for same ? ( lots of hardware and software differences) I'd suggest selling your dp chip and getting a proper remap as well as a decent intercooler, cheap snorkelsalso don't help fuel consumption. Do you have an egt gauge?[/QUOTE
I believe it was, would have to dig up my old invoice.
thats the plan, already have a nnn ECU to install, just néed to save for a intercooler.
i wouldn't call a safari snorkel cheap
running a madman.
EGTS at 125-130ish average around 570 give or take a few and pending on the gradient of the road.
Coolant sits between 91-95 ( pending abient temp outside)
gearbox temp sits between 92-105 pending ambient at that speed
obviusly as as soon as I back off EGTS drop. At 110 they are in the 400's
no , safari is fine , I was making more of a generic statement about the cheaper brands . If you deduct 10% for tyre size your around the 15.5 l/p hundred , with the lift / mud tyres , rack , dp chip, standard intercooler, ambient temp up there at this time of year etc at 130 sounds about ballpark, I reckon your IAT would be up there at 130 , what year is the D2 ?. Ask your mates with lifted, racked muddy shod toyonissa****i what their honest consumption figures are at 130 kph
Absolutely box stock D2/TD5, stock 235/70-16 tyres with just a TJM bullbar on the front and a parachu..., err, a rooftop tent on top
Last two tanks, loaded right up as I'm moving house, the first I didn't exceed 110 on the Federal, Hume and Pacific Highways and averaged 11.7l/100km, the next tank I was sitting on 120km/h in the 110km/h zones between Coffs and Alstonville (trying to make an appointment) and I've been running around Lismore, Alstonville and Ballina the last few days and got right on 12l/100km.
Not too shabby.
I think I averaged around 12.5l/100km on the trip back from Alice Springs in April/May.
Across the Nullarbor with roof tent aerodynamics I got a personal worst of 14.8 L/100 when cruise controlling at 110 (~2400 rpm in 4th locked up) with a decent cross wind the whole day. Best so far is 11.7 when cruising at 90 (~1950 rpm, TC locked). Running 265/70 R16 with speed ratio correction unit (true speedometer and odometer, thanks hunter di spares ). It’s all about the optimum ratio of rpm, turbo boost, velocity and wind resistance. Also throttle technique on the hills to avoid rev spikes. If I drove at 130 all day I would expect 16-17 L/100.
I've averaged 12.29L/100Km over the last 40,000Km.
Been running 245/75R16 Cooper STMaxx tyres for the last 5-10,000Km prior to that it was 245/75R16 Bridgestone D674 MT. ARB Front bar, winch, Rhino Rack Pioneer platform, Mantec RAI, Td5inside remap, Allisport intercooler, steel rear bumper.
Normal non-towing use sees 10-11L/100Km, towing a 1500Kg camper trailer at the legal speed limit sees 14-16L/100Km.
My speedo & odo read the same as my GPS as I have a speedo corrector fitted.
