There were so many things checked on that car that i forgot to mention about the TP sensor... outputs checked on live data and works as it should... as about the inertia switch i neglected it cos the pump runs fine and there's pressure at the rail... the inertia switch would have cut the fuel pump, and in most cases(by factory setting) it triggers the hazards.. on the battery voltage was measured and it doesnt drop below 11V while ctanking

    Try a simple ECU swap.
Just need a Nanocom to "learn security" and see how it goes.

No need for injector codes at that level of test.

The ECM ignores TPS inputs until started and will run without an operational one anyway. I practiced getting my manual TD5 up enough speed without the TPS to get CC to take over.

This is a quote from your OP.

Hi all, trying to help a friend through phone as he's far from me.

So is it going to be a bloody long lead or are you going to run the signals down the phone line?
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

i agree, that's why it runs only on idle if the TPS has failed

open the bonnet and listen carefully around the FPR...there must be a sussurant hiss...it's not good if it's completely silent unless the car stood for long

Hiss is more audible the longer its sat... It's the air in the line that makes the noise.

from some cases i saw it's the other way around cos it's the air which was "separated" by the air bleed valve and that air is the air which got mixed with the fuel due to movement, fill a bottle with fuel and shake it, it's about those small bubbles which are pending, the longer it stays the more of them are released into the tank and airless fuel will circulate through the system IMO

also IMO as long as the injectors are well sealed there's no way for air to enter into the system as it's under pressure so in case of a leak fuel will go out not air in ... i'll stand corerected and apologise if i'm wrong but that's what i experienced in many cases
