Idle Air Control Valve
Hi, would someone be able to tell me if the IACV on my V8 disco 2 could be causing it to blow a heap of black sooty smoke by malfunctioning?
I'm trying to sort out my oxy sensor faults and it's running rough also.
I've replaced the oxy sensors & MAF but still have this problem.
It' revs high when cold for about 30 seconds then back to normal idle which I believe is normal but when inspecting the IACV it doesn't appear to do anything? Is it suppose to be open about 10mm when warm?
Anyone Know how to test these?
P.S. I've also just changed the leads & plugs (Bosch platinum).
Thanks.

Probably not. I'd look at temp and MAF sensors.
