I would be slide traying to BOR sharp like....dont want to muck around with such a good engine nate.

This is a 1960 tech engine we are talking about. You could stick some 20/50 or even 5w40 and it would still get oil pressure roughly at the same time. I am concerned about the oil pump and relief valve personally. I have even seen a cracked timing cover in these Thor engines cause similar symptoms. May even have to remove the sump and check the oring on the oil pickup too....
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Would still be inclined to start with the simple stuff before pulling sump off , may be as simple as bad or non existant filter anti drain back , seeing as it only started after oil and filter change . if no different after oil and filter change , put a gauge on it
Yep great idea but wouldn't drive it unless it is cured
Yes, yes and yes.
Its driven from Broken Hill to here at WOT so if the pressure was a problem--
its too late now.
still no rattles,
The Mech offered to do a deal yesterday, he would change the oil to a 10w 40 and if the pressure light problem didnt go away,, no charge.
nice to know he's thinking
but I'll wait till after the filter change this arvo before pulling parts off.

Filter changed to previous version,
no change, still around 8 seconds when cold till lights out, still no rattle though.
Last check before I start dismantling is a physical oil pressure check,,
The garage where I have been doing all this has their gauge away for repairs which is why it hasnt been done.
can you still see the light go out with a gauge attached?
You out there Justin??
whats the best plan with the oil pump??

Depend on how you attach the gauge.
Put a tee in the port for the OEM light sender that way you'll see pressure to the sender and if it's low it may be a blocked port as there's still no noise symptom. If there's another place to check then check as well as if you see higher than the sender port you know the issue is in the port/sender. If it's the same you have issues.
Thanks Clubba,, there are two ports,,
the one the switch is in is really hard to get too,, when we replaced the switch the Mech just used the lower port and left the original switch in place so I can just swap the plug back and use the lower port.
anyone know what thread the oil switch is?
