Hi
Welcome. I'm sure there's quite a few on here who would find this very interesting, myself included. Is your vehicle msb or nnn type ? Have you had an opportunity to compare with stage 2 or above by Jose at td5 inside..... Pm sent
Hi,
I have been writing my own fuel maps for my TD5 ...Just asking if anybody else has been writing any ?? It is a lot easier than you think, not the black magic you are led to believe, I have put a lot of time into it and find it quite fascinating. Using different software can help identity different maps. Doing little things makes huge difference to how the car goes, not just the fuel maps but other files in the map can make it go even better. Anyway just putting it out there if anyone is interested drop me a PM.
My own car has done nearly 240,000 ks and it is going the best it has ever gone. I am up to about my 9th map now, research is the key.

Hi,
I wouldn't really know how to determine a Stage 2 map. If that means lots of fuel and response then yes lots of both. The maps I have looked at are from this site
LRD2TD5mapping.freeforums.org • Index page
The link should work if not let me know, be very careful as most are for manuals not AUTO's. Quiet different fueling. Like I keep saying keep checking everything before going forward
I would not copy somebody else map. due to the ethics of it. I am leaning the ins and outs of it for myself as this is the fun of it.
Jose - TD5 Inside has a great reputation and I would love to get as good as what he does to TD5's one day.

Yes , wouldn't condone copying anyone's maps either
What I meant was had you driven a d2 with one of his maps to compare to .......a benchmark of sorts
Do you have egt gauge?.
Welcome...
It was never black magic- it is however more difficult before the ECU has been completely decoded and the data blocks identified..
Remember doing little things can mean at very precise points your engine could be at risk... This is where the magic comes in!
To safely (Commercially) tune - lots of (expensive) equipment and Dyno time is required..
For the enthusiast - just time and enthusiasm
Good on you for having a crack at it...
Hi,
Yes have EGT and running a little high at around 750 C on a flat out run up a hill they were a lot high before around 900C ran no problems for about a year before I got the gauge. Have sent PM

Yes I do know there is a lot to it and the magic is in understanding the tables. I am not sure how far I can go with what I have and many of the software programs and very expensive, but very happy with what I have done so far with what I have, I can still improve I hope.
Thanks
