I don't think he operates the old fashioned way and I don't think he gives out his phone number for this reason.

Problem fixed. I fitted the new Lucas pump and filter from Roverlord
and it now goes like it should-The new fuel temp sensor and air bleed
valve have not arrived so they wern't the problem
The spectromatic pump I purchased from Bulgaria lasted less than 15000
km and was a lot noiser than the new one I fitted, even from new.
It did have a bottom screen and was completly clean when removed
I would suggest staying clear of these pumps

Good idea. I will give updates from time to time, loud noisy ones if it
doesn't work properly,but I am preaty sure everything will be ok. One
thing though, the new pump looked identical to the cheap one until I
found the float on the fuel guage sender had a part number on it where the old one was blank.

HI all
Its about 7 weeks since I fitted the new lucas pump and filter and all went well for about 2000 klms and then started to get very noisey. It is still running fine and starts well, but is now screeming.I dont know if it is something else causing it or another faulty pump.I changed the bleed off valve today and if anything,it got noiser.Any idears? There is a worrying add for these pumps on the Island 4x4 UK site but I am unable to paste it to this post.Someone else may be able to oblige.
