Thread: Have a miss

Hi all I have a miss in my d2 td5 it only misses randomly at this point in time I have found it does it between 80 and100ks and not all the time. I am leaning towards an injector as I have checked the injector harness no oil there it also has a slight miss if I take my foot of the accelerator going down hills. I would be greatful for any ideas you my have as to what else it could be thanks.

My last harness had no oil in it at all. I first fixed the problem by unplugging and plugging each injector in again. This was part way on a trip between Darwin and Brisbane. It happened late in the evening and I didn't work it out and get it going until near the middle of the night thank to plent of help from members on here.

Then it happened again on the same trip about 2000km up the rd. Once home, I thought it was just a bad connection so I crimped down all the connectors just a little so they were tighter on the blade connectors of the injectors. I ordered a harness just incase. That fix must have lasted about 2 months then I put the new harness in and haven't had a problem since.

I kept the old one as a back up.

And from memory, it was only doing it higher in the rev range or speed. At idle it was fine but on the Rd, the first indication was engine temp was rissing pretty well at 100kmh and then as soon as I slowed to 80 or so, I could straight away notice the miss.
