check the fluid level, check the selector is connected to the cable
check it hasnt droped into neutral, check that it holds in P with the handbrake off, check that its not a dud cv or diff letting a propshaft spin with it in drive
if all thats good and your luck its the spud shaft to the gearbox. if a thats good and its not the spudshaft you might (but most likely not) have a failed strainer/pump seal an its just not priming)
other than that if everything else is ok and its none of the simple stuff its box out...
if you can hear an intermittant ringing noise from the front of the box then its done the flex plate. your call as to doing an engine pull or a box drop.
