I don't know... But if you or anyone else knows if I can yank the Maxi Drive bits out of my D1 and fit them in my D2, let me know.....![]()
Are the front diffs of a D2 (not D2a) and P38 range interchangeable?
cheers
Nick

d1 d2 p38 and defender 24 spline are all interchangeable the only difference I believe is the drive flanges on the rear as d2s have rubber donuts

If a 91 D1 is like a 91RRC ( and I think it is) it will be 12 spline. So I can yank the Maxi Drive out of the front of my 91 D1
Although it may have Maxidrive axles in it so Hmm don't know whether they are the same spline count and diameter as D2 axles.

The center alone should fit depending on spline count.

If you're bringing rear diffs into it, the rears are not interchangeable. The P38 rear diff that was used in the P38 and Defender wont fit into a Rover type housing. The bolt in section on a P38 is slightly larger than a Rover type. Although they are basically the same, very little is actually interchangeable between the Rover and P38 diffs.
