You can remove the metal swage sleeve and use two good quality hose clamps to repair.
I have seen this last for years on a D2 as thats how some connect their aftermarket trans oil coolers
Hello all. Yesterday the Disco (04 D2a) blew a trans line out of the crimp half way between Port Wakefield and Adelaide. Can anyone recommend a place to find the bits I'll need first thing Monday, and somewhere to get them screwed in? In Flagstaff Hill with relatives currently.

Any of the hydraulic hose repairers should be able to re-swage the fitting.
Hoses clamps may work temporarily but these automatics have large hydraulic pressures so it's not the best solution.
Strip both lines out today as ideally you would get all the fittings redone at the same time.
I'd turn up at the door of Enzed/Pirtek/or similar and you should be able to wait while they do it.

While you have time make sure you can get the filler plug out a sometimes they can be a pain to loosen.
Thanks for the help guys. I had thought about the hose clamp option, but considering once its fixed, it has to go from Adelaide to Port Pirie and then home to Melbourne, I would rather it gets fixed properly. Plus my tools are in Port Pirie and I'm in Adelaide...
As we are close, the first course of action will be calling Triumph Rover Spares forst thing tomorrow to see if they can sort us out, as RACV should spring for a local tow for us. Fingers crossed.

I also plugged in the nanocom, but there were no errors logged in the gearbox or anywhere else - doea this mean we have avoided any real damage to the box itself?

typically yes.
I'd be checking ALL the line connections.

Well Triumph Rover were good enough to squeeze us in today as we're traveling... but the gearbox is knackered. One that we put in about 8000 clicks ago is now shot.
I'm having a huge crisis of faith right now...

They replaced the lines and filled it up, but on a test drive it was hunting for gears, slipping etc.
So they're fitting a 2nd hand box for us so we can get home. Can't say enough about how helpful Triumph Rover Spares have ben as well - highly recommend them.
