Replaced a very worn clutch about three weeks ago & now she's started grinding into 4th gearAlso makes a growling noise when the clutch is depressed
Took the cover off the box where the gear shift is & you can see the mainshaft of the gearbox turning even when the clutch is depressed (this is when it starts growling) give the clutch a few quick "stabs" and the mainshaft stops turning along with the growling noise.
Slave cylinder was replaced and spigot bearing. Input shaft & DMF were all well within specs.
Master cylinder was not replaced however, clutch bled up fine & there is a nice firm pedal, anyone had this trouble before? Could clearly see the baulk rings when the cover was off the box & they looked fine also. Cheers in advance for any advice![]()
nah she went in the right way
Spigot bush damaged? Was it prelubed with oil before installing? If this is breaking up or siezing on the mainshaft then it will give the same result and grinding noises
