You really need to find out if its diesel smoke or oil , if , as you say it smokes after coasting down a hill , then take someone with you , coast down the hill , pull over at the bottom and get out get co driver to rev it while you or someone that knows the difference between oil and diesel smoke has a whiff, let us know and we can go from there.
    Cheers

Any change in the oil level? It may be too soon to tell but worth a check.

I definitely would say it's a burning oil smell

So , on top of what I've mentioned in post # 9 , check for excessive blow by , unscrew the oil filler cap with engine idling , shouldn't be enough under normal circumstances to blow the cap off under pressure , the other thing that can cause your symptoms is if the oil control rings are u/s , sorry , not much good news , think there is a video clip somewhere on here of excessive blow by.

So I just started it and undid the oil filler cap, and no blow by, there was no pressure on the cap at all.... Could this be a turbo problem?

It's possible, this isn't very scientific but you could get to the top of a hill remove the intercooler hose and coast down the hill , see if the smoke stops.

Hey everyone, update on the smoke, it turns out it is actually an unburnt diesel smoke, i was mistaken on the smell, hence why no oil is being lost on the dip stick, the owner did say the computer may have had a fault, due to a slight (and I mean very slight) lumpy idle when made to idle at 1000rpm (via accelerator) which I never really noticed before, so I'm thinking a re map/new for old swap from triumph rover spares, over in SA I think? Anyone used those guys before?

Maybe a faulty injector? Also worth checking that they are programmed correctly if it is slightly lumpy. But my money is on an injector and not the ECU.
