    Transfer case overhaul

    Well after doing the 270K on this transfer case with stripping it down only real fault I could find was the rear bearing on the input shaft was rough feeling I had a donor box out of a later low km disco so used most of the gears and intermediate shaft out of it.

    The only part I needed out of mine was the input gear set as this has the PTO drive dogs on it for my hydraulic pump.

    The picture is if you do not have a press put bearings in and slow cook at 120 degrees do not go hotter, put the other part in freezer overnight is good as gives it time to cool right down through out, bearings should now just drop on, another way to heat bearings is use an old electric fry pan heat engine oil to 120 degrees just be careful of oil splash when putting bearings in pan.

    And fitting a limited slip in the transfer case

    Any one needs parts?

    Ok I have parts left over for transfer case one transfer case housing the hole where the intermediate shaft sits is still good, gears, and two side gear carriers (diffs) output shafts and drive shaft yokes plus one gasket set.

    Drop me a pm if interested a couple of beers would be good will keep them till the new year then to the steel merchant.

    It is the ashcroft one, still to fit the td5inside turbo from josh which i got before my trans blew i figured it would be good for dragging off commodores on a wet day
