Thread: any source for "pollen" filter?

    Important to note that cabin air filters are often negatively electrically charged (electret) media to improve filtration performance for environmental particles like pollen which tend to be positively charged. Many are also impregnated with activated carbon to help remove VOCs.

    Water filter foams are not charged.

    Just because it looks similar... the idea of using HVAC filter media is a good one though.

    The D2 Plennum filters are nothing special like that, just foam. I doubt they really achieve very much at all. Heaps of people drive around without them oblivious that a strip of foam was even meant to be there.
    As for catching pollen dust , the pollen will go over the top of them.
