WD40 worked for me.

My fault was that the latch/handle wouldn't open the door. Spraying with WD40 loosened it up, yours is a different issue it seams.

Could the real problem be that the mechanical lock parts that you operate when you try to open from the outside are stuck?
You could try some WD40 / CRC on them: gently prise out the "Land Rover" decal from the lock housing, then apply lubricant to the mechanism behind it. You may notice an immediate difference in what you feel when you try to lift the outside opening handle. The lock mechanism is very prone to getting dust into it, due to turbulence behind the moving vehicle.
Worth a try, I think.

If you read the op the problem is that the actuator is locking but not unlocking, by pulling the interior handle it causes the actuator to release it is a common problem

Mine won't open with the interior handle either.

is this the problem where the child lock is stuck between on and off?
the solution is to take off the robber dust seal, correct the child lock and like magic the door will open.

Child lock will only stop the door being opened from the inside
