Cheaper but quality alternative for genuine hubs
Starting from the thread in which it became clear that non-genuine/cheap hubs can have less slots on the reluctor ring or bad quality sensors i want to inform you all that there is an alternative now to "build'' a hub which will be almost as good as a genuine one at a lower price(not as cheap as a chinese hub though), e.g for front hubs see this Allbrit.de - Ersatzteile f?r LAND ROVER & MG ROVER , (nr.5) they were available once then at a time LR dealers decided to sell only the whole hub (nr.4) even though the flange can overlast many hubs, though it can be sourced from reliable/good brand manufacturers under TAD100020 part number(some shops are sending directly to the complete hub TAY100060 but IMO this bearing side of it is important), if you can find one of the manufacturer's dealer down under you can go for one of this list Wheel Bearing Kit: LANDROVER TAD100020 -compatibility, features, prices. Boodmo only an extractor is needed, a friend of mine just replaced both fronts with Quinton Hazel hubs at a good price from a local supplier, the ABS system is well balanced and no erratic behaviour, the same trick is valid for rears too http://www.allbrit.de/UNI.cfm?PAGE=817912&SPRACHE=EN so TAD100010 is enough, just google out these flangeless part numers and i'm sure it'll pop up a local supplier for you too which has one of the alternatives listed at a good price
Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
