    Engine Saver Issue

I have a strange problem with the Enginesaver fitted to my Td5.

Normally at ign' ON, it goes "BEEP" and the red LED flashes. Now at ign' ON it's going "Beeeeeeeep" slowly diminishing in volume until it's silent .... like it's starving for voltage to reach it's usual volme.

I found the feed wire from the engine bay was damaged where it passed through the firewall, so I've fixed that, but no change.

Then, after driving for a while the alarm starts to sound ... at a really low volume, almost inaudible over the cabin noise, gradually getting louder and louder, but not to the normal volume.

I ran an external wire from the sensor to the alarm module, bypassing the existing wire, but the problem still exists ??

Sensor failure or alarm module failure ? I've checked the earth connection (earthed to the steering column support bracket under the dash). Appears to be OK ?

Asking this BEFORE I remove the sensor out of the top hose (and have to replace the hose when the thread in the hose collapses !! ) ... is it possible the sensor in the top radiator hose has corroded ??

    I'm stumped

... and before you ask, yes, coolant level is OK.

Mine did something similar, I checked the sensor first and found it had a black coating on it. This just wiped off with a cloth. Refitted (Without damaging the threaded insert ) and it's all good again.

Same with me. Just polish up the end of the sensor and good to go.

its worth looking at getting the triangular insert from the madman mob that goes between the block and the head outlet then use a plastic insert in that to get the low coolant probe in.

Yeah ... The low coolant alarm that warns you when the coolant isn't low

    It's a Land Rover thing
