Well was talking to the wife. And may have been decided that the wounded td5 might be let go..
But in a trade off. I get to get my 110 in the future. ....when unsure lol...

So is a 110 that much more reliable?
Not at all if its a td5 its just the same...cheers
And given the nature of a 110, a td5 may actually be worse as they are more likely to have had a hard working life
Sorry but my mind fails to get around the thinking of, Its giving trouble! Lets ditch it and find another, and hope it doesn't! Penny wise, pound foolish comes to mind
Cheers Scott
Well be looking for a late 1980 110 v8.
Unsure of power unit. But will looking at a long term long range rig.
May even go for full airbag setup.
Im getting to the stage. I be building the rig to last. So no more projects just one last go. . Fill my dream ..
Just remeber its my dream the disco was just a bargain from a family member to test the waters.

It all depends on what's wrong and repair costs vs long term usages.
On the 3rd broken timing chain it would need a new head plus associated parts.
Not knowing if there was an internal oil flow issue in the block it was time to go.
We upgraded/ cross-graderd to a Puma, a 14 year younger vehicle with a different drive train.
The D2 served well as a play toy and did many trips.
Serviceability on the side of the road on remote tracks we want to do played a roll too.
Eg; Replacing a wheel is not as simple as carrying a spare on a D2 being a non-serviceable item.
