So from those images the TJM Bar and the winch cradle would both be mounted at the same spot that the original bumper bar was mounted.
How is that "Sharing" the load any differently to an ARB bar with the built in winch cradle, On both set ups the bar and the winch are relying on the same mounting points?

No one said the ARB mounting was inadequate, we were talking about the X-Rox bars shearing off the front during winching/recovery so they must be poorly/inadequately mounted, I just mentioned having a separate winch cradle which sounded like it was mounted behind the crush cans was a nice idea......
I went with the ARB Bar because it was the ONLY place I could get a decent winch bar for my D2a in Geraldton, Even then I had to wait about 3 months before it was finally fitted.
The option to be able to add a winch to the bar at a later date with the TJM unit sounds like a really good idea and after a decent impact that wreaks the bar the winch cradle would possibly survive it and would possibly make a replacement of the bar a cheaper option than the ARB built in unit.
How easy is it to remove the winch for servicing on the TJM Bar ?

SubscriberMuch better. After a bit of an inspection and a grease and oil change we're off to the Birdsville Races towing our whizz bang camper (~1.8t). Leaving about mid August and returning mid to late September. We'll take in a few other places on the way back. Perhaps a bit of a poke around the Flinders Ranges is in order.

Mine has had some work to replace bulbs in front indicator and park light. It is so much fun with an ARB Bar to get the headlight assembly out. The 2004 D2 headlight assembly is quite bulky. They do come out though.
It also some surgery to fix a headlight that filled with water. To do that I had to split the lens off the front of the assembly, clean all the sealant and parts and put it back together. Splitting the lens and back part was so much fun and I thought I had killed it but with perseverance I managed to get it separated. The good guides recommend heating in a oven but I was not willing to do that in our oven. I think a tragedy may have occurred. (Me that is).
So far it has not shown any signs of leaking but time will tell.
Cheers,
Russ
