    Back to it

Unflipped the table and finished off the provent bracket.
I borrowed mounting points from the abs unit and the clip that holds A/C line.
Juuuuuust fits in the gap, means I don't have to move second battery.
Just got to plumb it in after taking it back out to clean out intercooler and friends.
Probably could do with a lick of paint too, but that is so far down the list...........Time for a beer!

Got the check engine light come on today. Quick check of nanocom told me fault 15.2 high speed crank (CPS). So looks like I'm in for that as well as a SVS this week. You'll be hearing from me soon, Mario....

Fixed the drivers window, replaced regulator.
Team effort from Pedro and The Good Oil, Atlantic British youtube videos, Roverlord and my next door neighbour.
    All good.

Had a 2" suspension lift fitted by a local Land Rover specialist, and it came back washed and 're-branded'....

Let me explain what I mean by re-branded, and Im not really sure what I think about what they have done, but as we all know all to often when you take your car into a dealership it will come back with a sticker often on the rear window.

Well, mine when I bought it had a sticker on the rear window from a local Land Rover specialist, as it happens in my area we have two specialists, I just happend to use this second specialist because whilst they were further from home, they were closer to work and more convenient, but the sicker from the other specialist was the only visible branding my D2 had......

...when I collected it after the suspension fitting I found that they had washed it, which annoyed my wife a little because she was very proud of the large splash of muddy water on the bonnet from her first attempt at wading...
I now had number plate frames front and rear (and they squared up my slightly wonky front plate), a nice pad of paper and pen on the passenger seat, a keyring, a new sicker on my rear window..AND they removed the competing specialists sticker...

I reckon the advertising space is worth at least a 5% discount on your bill?

That lead to the awkward removal of the trim panels underneath the engine bay. Don't think they have been out since new. Managed to destroy a couple of plastic rivets.
Then I saw that there is a very very slow leak from PAS fluid hose union. Level hasn't moved from the fill line though.
Then I noticed that the PAS metal line has been rubbing against the metal manifold between Turbo and intercooler.
Removed said manifold - neither component rubbed through. Nice save.
Then noted the amount of oil inside the manifold and silicone hoses and decided that tomorrow's planned ProVent install will also include intercooler clean out.
Figured out a spot to fit the ProVent and started making up a mounting bracket.
Looked at the removal process for intercooler in workshop manual and decided it was time for a break.
A thoroughly productive and unproductive day.

Advice on intercooler clean out? I was just going to wash the inside with some dilute degreaser and a vigorous shake, rinse, repeat until clear, then blast it out with the air compressor to make sure it is all dry. Same deal with hoses up to intake manifold.
Don't use a water based degreaser as they are alkaline. Can cause problems with aluminium. Hydro carbon - kerosene or spray in degreaser moves the oil out.
