Have you got one of those plastic repair kits that come with the super glue and powder handy.
I have used this stuff to fix a mounting on my headlight and even fixed a plastic sprinkler with it and both are still going strong

Maybe some PVC glue would do the trick but I am not sure if the diesel would affect the glue or not.

Actually, now that you mention it, I do. Perhaps I'll give that a go. Q-Bond and RapidFix have a place in my cupboard. Little worried about the diesel rich environment though.

I have spark and I heard the new pump charge,it turns over but won't go.
Thinking a gallon of fuel over the thing might give it the encouragement it needs.
    Any help appreciated.
I had the same issue with my V8 D1, it stumped some of the best Rover mechanics in the country (and a few ordinary, ordinary ones). It turned out to be a collapsed muffler, that looked in fine fettle externally. Blknight.aus finally nutted it out.

    Rpaid fix What is it?

For those of you who have rapid fix; mix a small amount with vinegar. Does it fizz? If yes, it contains carbonate
Drop a small amout onto a gas flame. Does the flame go orange? if yes it contains sodium
Do the same for baking powder.
    What can you conclude?

I did see a micro repair where a fine hole was drilled into each end of 2 broken bits and a fine rod inserted and glued into the 2 halves to reinforce the repair

I don't have too much time on my hands, that's why I want some one else to do the lab work.
As for butter milk soak, it could be that the extra liquid soaks into the meat. That's why people brine their chicken before roasting. BTW plain ater will work just as well. It's possible that the extra moisture keeps the muscle fibres damp and far apart and that does give a tender meat. The lactic acid in the butter milk will also break down proteins making the meat tender.
Make sure that you use a glass and a half of butter milk.

Yoghurt works better. The bacteris in yoghurt also brek down the proteins

Finally found the source of a very annoying loud rattle coming from the nearside dash 'A' pillar area whenever you put the power on (TD5). I had done everything to fix short of pulling the dash out. It turned out to be the nearside repeater that had a broken plastic retaining clip.
