I went to take off my spare tyre, and found this!!

And couldn’t find the little attachment to undo anywhere in the vehicle.

Does anyone know if this is standard LR issue? And where I could buy the right attachment?

    Cheers

Thanks to Roverlord I replaced my knackered front prop shaft (at last) and the equally knackered glow plug relay. Replacing the drive shaft drive flange bolts was something of a drama with an angle grinder required to get the old ones out and a little bit of GENTLE persuasion to get the new ones in while wrestling with that bloody big circlip. Also FINALLY got rid of the locking wheel nuts after losing one set in the shed. If anyone wants a "C" socket (and five nuts) let me know and they're yours.

Of course it's now sprung another slight leak. Fuel this time from the bottom of the fuel filter. Oh well, at least it isn't oil or coolant this time.
Next project after the fuel filter leak is to get rid of all the red dirt from our NT adventure.
    Cheers,

standard D2 locknut,, bash a cheap socket on it and then throw them both in the bin

make sure you replace it with the correct "spare only" wheelnut

You might have the key socket in the flappy inside pocket in the black tyre lever chock bag in the rear door pocket. Have a look in the black plastic thing that lives inside bag.

I kept mine but I did need to weld the key socket as it started to split like they all do. Never split after I welded it years ago.

    Cheers

Changed the rear steering tie rod arm and a front tie rod. Ball joints have been done, so off to the wheel aligner on Wed. for some straightness.. Fitted new LH rear tail light, drilled a hole and put a grommet in the back door for an antenna cable, now have HF radio working. Getting ready for another Rally weekend in the Adelaide hills this weekend.

RRD100630 is the part number for the Spare wheel only nut. warning never try to use these on your road wheels, only use these to hold the spare to the carrier. As said before turf the locking nuts on all your wheels also and replace with no locking ones and never get caught not being able to remove a wheel out in the bush.
