well after cutting out that back 1/4 vent window and taping some cardboard in i have found where an annoying air draft leak that i thought was a rear door seal was coming from as it no longer has it

also has anyone else had this happen
a few years ago i was having issues with the xyz switch, so i brought a new and ever since the xyz switch has not played up once.
then the abs switches in the pump starting playing up so got a new wabco switch ever since it has not played up
so i have found i can fix it by simply buying parts and then never having to fit them Landrovers are strange things

    Yes, its voodoo magic .
If you carry a talisman, the voodoo spirits are not game to play up as they know they can be replaced.

That is why I always carry a donut, water pump, tensioner pulley, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator , spare air filter , spare fuel filter , spare belt when I go on a trip. So far none have failed.

    Regards Philip A

bugga! knew I did something wrong trying to get my D2 to mechanic to get RWC check.
Didn't tow my spare parts D2 there too.
So obviously I killed the poor clapped out(by previous owners) V8. Killed good and proper too.

need a new plan for mine now.

The best way to find an item is to buy a new one. The missing item reappears as if by magic.

My mates 2 year old BT50 keeps stalling and non starting. Also the Hill Decent keeps activating in normal driving which is exciting. Luckily he has a very nice D2a manual V8 that comes to the rescue. He keeps telling me how much more he prefers to drive the D2 anyway and how much he hates diesel...the sound, the drive, the smell at the servo.

    Cheers

The smell at the servo is easy to rid yourself of.... drive away!
It's the smell on your hands after you use the pump.
It's oil, so it doen't go away, as because you have it on your hands, it therefore seems into your nice expensive leather steering wheel too .. etc, etc.

But, close to 1000kmls from a single 90lt tank is nothing to sneeze at too.

Yep that's what he meant. The smell on your hands unless you pull on the proctology gloves. Cheers

LOL! I use riggers gloves(pump hand, so only the one) sometimes.

Although, I recently joined up to Costco's retail system($65/yr) mainly because they opened up a new store and fuel station not far from me.

Couple of months in now, and their pumps are all still pristine! Clean as a whistle, no smell whatsoever on hands .. strange to not have to put up with it.

ps. my work involves filing the prime movers we drive, so filling with gungy oily filthy fuel pump guns is common .. every day.
Even with an old pair of leather gloves I have just for the filling up, it still gets into and through the leather and onto skin, so there's no beating it! .. so it's just one of those things you 'put up with'.
