Why? , It has "LANDROVER" emblazoned on the front of the bonnet and putting a badge on the grill would defeat the purpose of the mod by blocking some of the extra airflow anyway.

The paint is dry and the Sikaflex has cured
It won't win any awards for beauty but is very strong (Much stronger than the original grill) and it will allow a far better airflow over the radiator and "Hopefully" help to maintain cooler running temps in Summer

I would have put a Landrover badge on this if the new grill came with one But it didn't unfortunately and I had No intention of wrecking the original grill because it is still in perfect condition.

It'll be interesting to read the results on any effect it has.
Maybe do a test run towing the boat on a hot day. IIRC, that was an issue you recently had.

    Great to see

Watch out for direct hits with rocks. .rads n condensers don't like em much😐 . Daughters 2016 zook has a faily open lower 'mouth'. So far 2 condensers gone due to rock attack at @$800 plus AC recharge. I put in some GT like grill mesh to prevent this happening again.

The grill is actually now Far stronger than the original grill, The mesh I used is really heavy duty 1inch stuff and it is held in place with lashings of "Sikaflex".
All that was there originally was a bit of plastic which offered No protection whatsoever.

That test shouldn't be too hard to set up as Feb/March is usually the hottest time of the year here and we often get 40C+ days.
I have swapped out the 92C thermostat for a 82C one, I have replaced the 9inch spots for 7inch ones and now I have done this grill mod So I am pretty confident that the Old Girl will run a bit cooler towing the boat now

Does look meaner... although some effect lost due to the winch, lights etc.
Interested to see the temp data; coolant, intake etc

The winch sits where the factory bumper bar was originally covering the radiator But with the ARB bar there is actually more airflow now due to its design and The scoop under the front end also remains unobscured as it was prior to the winch being fitted

There was No notable difference in engine temps from before the ARB bar and winch was fitted and after, I was concerned about this But the extra airflow coming through the holes in the ARB bar offset the loss of airflow by the winch fitment, The stock bumper blocked more air than the bullbar and winch does.
I imagine that removing the winch Will undoubtedly allow for more airflow but I like having a winch fitted so I am quite prepared to trade off some airflow to leave it there

The D2a was never designed for Australian conditions and all I am trying to accomplish by this grill Mod is to help with keeping the engine temps to a manageable level.
There is more I can do like eliminating the factory coolant bypass so that ALL the coolant goes through the radiator via an inline thermostat at the top of the engine instead of the way it is in the standard setup.
The factory setup is perfect for cold climates as it gets the engine up to operating temp fast and runs the heaters quickly But it isn't that helpful in our 40C+ climate.
My D2a is a work in progress and I enjoy trying different Mods to tailor make it for my needs/wants
