All the blocks are backward compatible but not forward compatible. It would have to be a very late 3.9 to have the bosses for knock sensors and the mount for the crank sensor.

Having not actually inspected the old block for the cause, it seems very likely. Coolant hydraulically locked the motor in cylinder5 and also filled the sump.Quote:

Today I made use of the roof console and all its spare wasted space. (I don't have sunroof(s)), so fitted my UHF, an extra ciggy socket, direct wired to battery so I can power my dashcam, and charge my phone, or whatever needs a USB, and a little battery voltage "gauge".
