Finally think I have found out which hub is on the way out.
Was driving along yesterday to go on a bike ride and crawling along on Tumbi Rd near Wyong Rd when bong and 3 amigos.( plus red exclamation)
This is similar to the last 2 times it happened some months ago in Grafton and Minnie Water just crawling along at say 5KMh but this time Ta Da it came up with an error message RH front signal intermittent.
And I have always thought it was the LH!
The only wild card is that the connector under the brake MC has melted away from spilled brake fluid and repaired with heat shrink, but I think it is actually the wheel bearing as there is a "rumble" just as you stop.
So looks like another happy time dismantling hub to replace. At least it is pretty easy.
I recently bought a Britpart hub from LR Direct complete with sensor for $182 including freight. My reasoning being that it was less likely to have 55 spokes than a Hong Kong one, seeing LR Direct would sell lots of them.

... a happy belated 7th birthday announcement for my CAT 115-2422 1000CCA Calcium Battery that I installed way back in 2012, on 27th of August. This is my cranking battery, and at the time of installation I was asked by forum members how good is it? and I remember remarking that its effect on the TD5 when called to action was akin to using a "cow prod on a cricket " and it is still is the same today, 7 years on!..... I think I'll buy another and retire the original to light duties in the back of the D2 charging phones and running fridges etc.... Is this a recommendation? yes it is!!

I used my D2a to pull a few stumps out at the BIL's place yesterday.
The job was made pretty easy after a bit of rain and it was a good workout for the winch on the disco[thumbsupbig]
Engine oil change and all the filters.
Started raining so didn’t get to the transmission and air con clutch. Always next weekend.
V8 blew head or valley gasket I reckon. Certainly pumping nice fluro coolant out of number 5 spark plug hole isn't factory spec (no, actually it probably is[emoji1787][emoji1787]).
So. Time to make the D2 a project vehicle for my 2 boys. Going to do head gasket or valley and it's a great mud puppy for them.
For me, time to have some level of new car reliability and decided on new MR Triton GLS Premium at $44,450 drive away. 7 year, 150,000k warranty and all the fruit (lot of new safety stuff including autonomous emergency braking, cross traffic alert etc) so good for long distance touring with my wife. Easy to drive. 6 speed auto.
No it's not an LR but not a Toyota either [emoji1787].

unbelievable.....[bigsad]
That's a blow (and no pun intended! [emoji16])
Steane Klose loves his magazine project Trev the Trytoo almost as much as his Deefer, and that's saying something as almost everytime we speak he gives me grief over getting rid of mine!
Time for an LS conversion? [emoji848][emoji56]
Sorry to be the bearer of potentially bad tidings, but if it is number 5 then the chances are it is a cracked block.
There are no water passages near number 5, as they are only at each end of the block. Head gasket failure involving water is usually at the ends and even the head to manifold water jacket join is only at the ends.
