Without, shot blasted first
They are early D2 16 Inch . I has the later D2 16 inch (straight spoke not clawed like those pictured) but I sourced a set of clawed type because I wanted to go black. I reckon the clawed ones look better in black and the straight ones look better in silver. Cheers
Fixed a few issues with rear door. 12 months ago I inverted my wheel carrier to accomodate my new larger tyre size which neatly dealt with 1 obvious problem but in the process created some new unexpected ones. In the standard configureation the wheel carrier offsets the wheel to the hinge side of the door. Inverting the carrier lifts the wheel centre by 35mm and shifts the wheel centre 40mm horizontally nearer to the centre of the door. As expected the vision out of the rear window suffered, but the re-distribution of the weight on the door now made the door feel heavy to open and close, and the door was unstable in the open position. The ramp and roller that aligns the door lock and catch when closing is now also showing increased wear. I contacted forum member RIJIDIJ and he modified a standard wheel carrier to lift the wheel centre by 40mm. Now that the modified wheel carrier is installed the door operation is back to what it was before and I’ve got improved rearward vision. Happy days

Probably a redundant question, but are people smearing oil on the grooves in the new filter before fitting it?
All oil filter "O" rings should be coated in NEW oil before being fitted to prevent damage to the "O" ring and to ensure a correct "Fit" But you would be surprised at the amount of people that don't bother to do this and that includes many of the people that we entrust our cars to be serviced.
I replaced the RH front window regulator today.
Pretty straightforward but the Youtube video did not mention getting the bloody plastic off!
It seems that LR fitted the plastic first then rivetted the brackets for the door handle and armrest on and under all the plastic sockets for the fir trees , so I had to cut around them rather than pull the brackets off and re rivet them. Lots of duct tape later I think it is pretty well sealed.
Mine had a wreckers regulator in it by the marker numbers scrawled on it. As expected one roller was gone. Does anyone know whether it is only the one roller position that fails? I have a perfectly good regulator stored now taking up space for the want of one roller. I would probably fix it if only that one fails , but no point if they fail randomly. I bought a new Britpart regulator for $42 on ebay from 4WD.
The motor was loose on all four bolts, so was flopping around adding to the clunks. I think the only thing to be careful of is to mark the position of the big gear on the regulator and make sure to fit the motor in the same position. I loctited all the motor bolts .
I was surprised at how stiff the window was in the runners, and I feel that this really contributes to the broken roller problem. I sprayed all the runners with WD40 dry lube. I lubed the regulator with lots of zinc oxide grease also.
It's a bit of a worry that this is the second one in 17 years.
