SubscriberI found with mine that the webbing had an effect on the warp.
The warp was about 1Mm with the webbing and 2Mm with the webbing cut out.
Now this suggests that the webbing reduced the warping but that was only cold, and it perhaps has a differing expansion /contraction rate to the rest of the manifold.
I also elongated the holes
So far so good. about 70Kk with no leaks.

Nup, didn't de-web, I don't think it's necessary.
We'll see if I'm clever or not in a few years time.
Left the centre stud holes standard, the next ones out 1 drill size larger, the outer ones 2 drill sizes up.
And the manifold was machined on both faces before being sent off to the coaters, I need to get the 3" dump away from the chassis rail a little more.
Interestingly my machinist said they've machined dozens of Patrol manifolds, reckoning they almost come from the factory warped!
I winched out yet another big peppercorn tree stump with the D2a today, Who needs a loader when you have a 3t 4WD with a 12,000lb winch fitted

If you wind off the rope from the 9000lb winch until you get to the last wrap you will get the Full benefit/power out of it as the more rope left on the winch the less pulling power you have
If that doesn't work add a couple of snatch blocks to the mix.
My 79 Series only has a 9000lb winch fitted to it But I can still get it to do some amazing tasks by being "Creative"
When pulling stumps try to leave a fair bit of the tree in place when you cut it down (about 2m) so that you get plenty of leverage on the root system when winching it out and be prepared to do a bit of digging to chop off the stubborn roots if you have to.
Also make sure that you use at least 2x rope dampeners and make sure that you stay out of the line of fire from the rope because usually there is a hell of a lot of strain on the rope when pulling stumps, Also don't rush it and give the winch regular breaks so that you don't burn it out

I slotted my manifold at the webs with a cutting disc.
Then had it ceramic coated.
That was 150,000km ago on a fully modified and tuned TD5.
