When I acquired the D2 I read all the threads and posts I could search on what everyone did and you were one of the early birds on coating it. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Put rust converter on the very small scratches on the roof and the high lift jack bracket. Chawton White paint is on the way.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Finally bought the shovel. Then I had to shift the brackets so that the widow maker can also fit.

Then the roof rack was removed.

I think the car looks naked.

The roof rack and brackets have had the bare parts painted.

Well I finally got around to a brake system flush. I have a pressure bleeder which makes the job easier.

Fitted a new belt as I was a bit worried about the age of my current one. I bought a Gates 7PK 1800 which is a little shorter than the 1820 Dayco specified but much cheaper ( although now a Dayco there for $42 AFAIR) and looks better quality as the back is textured . It fit easily without any problems. It was timely as there were a few cracks starting on the edges. All the pulleys seem good .

Monday is planned to be the big day for changing the auto transmission hoses which I am not looking forward to..

When inspecting under the car I found that the rear diff pinion seal is leaking. Not bad for 212KK I suppose, but looks to be a bugger of a job, although I have a 53MM socket which with a bolt should get the three leg flange rubber donut guide off. If not I also have a dynamic balancer holding tool which I should be able to modify if even more grunt needed.
    Regards PhilipA

Funny re the belt, I've just bought a Dayco even though I had a new Conti, but the Conti has been sitting in the car for over three years as a JIC spare.

Mostly used Dayco on the Defender and found them to last well and were quiet expect when wet.

Just reading the old/OE map from the ECU ATM What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

I'm driving along, playing with the Nanocom, don't remember exactly what part, I was looking for the speedo adjusting part, when the Nanocom said comms with ECO lost. No big deal, but the speedo and tacho went to zero and the throttle died as well. It came back after a couple of seconds. I unplugged the Nanocom!

Can you correct the speedo with a Nanocom? My speedo under-reads by 10%
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

    Nope.

You'll need a HunterDi ratio converter and they're a couple of hundred $$'s, but at least if you ever change tyre size again you can adjust the speedo.
